Foreigner Kicks off Summer Concert Series at Harrah's
June is going to be another scorching month for hot entertainment at Harrah’s Casino’s Grand Event Center in Cherokee, N.C.
The iconic super group of the ‘80s and ‘90s Foreigner will take the stage Friday, June 8, at 9 P.M.
The band became famous for numerous classic multi-platinum rock tunes such as “Cold as Ice”, “Juke Box Hero”, “I Want To Know What Love Is”, “Hot Blooded” and the critically-acclaimed “Wonders” from the 2009 “Can’t Slow Down” album—Foreigner is a band continually forging new musical peaks.
Comprising Foreigner’s dynamic lineup are founder-lead guitarist Mick Jones, lead vocalist Kelly Hansen, bass guitarist Jeff Pilson, multi-instrumentalist Tom Gimbel, keyboardist Michael Bluestein and drummer Mark Schulman.
Nine time Grammy winning multi-platinum recording artist Cheryl Crow performs on Sunday, June 24, at 7:30PM. Crow is known for platinum selling rock songs such as “Every day is a winding Road”, “All I Wanna do Is have some Fun” and others. Currently, Crow is touring while promoting her seventh album ‘100 Miles to Memphis.”
“I grew up in a small town 100 miles from Memphis, and that informed not only my musical taste, but how I look at life,” she says. “The drive to Memphis is all farmland, and everyone is community-oriented, God-fearing people, connected to the earth. The music that came out of that part of the world is a part of who I am, and it’s the biggest inspiration for what I do and why I do it. My last record (2008’s Detours) was pretty political, extremely personal, and more lyric-driven. So, it seemed like a great time to do something soulful and sexy and more driven by the music.”
Harrah’s is located at 777 Casino Drive in Cherokee, N.C. For ticket information call Box Office Numbers (828) 497-8899 or visit their web Site at http://www.harrahscherokee.com.
