Confusion Cited in Early Voting
Early voting has already begun in the general election and state primaries. There has been some confusion among voters in the election process.
Rod Loveday, who is running for county clerk, has learned that some voters were unaware they could vote for him in the primary election.
"When they go vote they must pick Republican or Democrat for the primary portion of the election," Loveday stated."Some people think they have to vote Democrat to be able to vote for me. That is incorrect it does not matter which primary they choose because my race is for the general election ballot. In other words the general election (which I am in) is on both Republican and Democrat ballots. No matter how they vote in the primary, whether it is Democrat or Republican, they can still vote for me in the general election.
Early voting for the general and primary elections is already underway and the election will be held on August 2. All Sevier countians are urged to exercise their rights to vote.
