The Friends of King Family Library is introducing a Lifelong Learning Series beginning in November. The series aims to provide educational opportunities for community members of all ages. A lifelong learning class will be offered on the second Thursday of each month from 6 PM to 7 PM at King Family Library, 408 High Street in Sevierville.

These classes are provided free of charge, but all attendees are encouraged to register.  Pre-registration is encouraged due to limited class sizes, but registration will also be made available at the door if spots are still available.
On November 10, the Friends of King Family Library is offering “Nature Photography Made Easy,” a visual presentation for persons interested in nature photography.  F/stop and shutter speed will be explained as well as key concepts of depth of field, perspective, composition, lighting, and showing motion within a photo.  All instruction is in non-technical language and photos of Sevier County are used to demonstrate the terms being explained.  There is also a discussion of digital photography going over items such as exposure compensation, picture taking modes, file and picture sizes, etc.  Lesson notes will be provided.
On December 8, a Basic Computer Skills class will be offered.  This course will cover basics such as turning computers on and off, opening and closing programs, and accessing the internet.  Due to a limited number of computers, eight registration spots are available for this class.  Additional attendees are encouraged to bring their own laptops.
To register, please fill out registration sheet at the circulation desk of the King Family Library, call 865.453.3532, or e-mail cgraesser@sevierlibrary.org.
