Police Seeking Public Assistance in Identifying Suspect
The City of Sevierville Police Department and Sevier County Sheriff’s Office are requesting the public’s assistance identifying a person suspected of three recent robberies.
On November 17, 2011, the suspect allegedly robbed Mountain National Bank on Winfield Dunn Parkway (Highway 66) in Sevierville. Witnesses at this robbery described the suspect as a heavy set, white male, in his late 20s to mid 30s, approximately 5’ 10” to 6’2”tall, and weighing approximately 210 to 240 pounds.
The same man is suspected of robbing the Dollar General Store on Boyd’s creek Highway in Seymour on November 10, 2011 and again on November 28, 2011.
In the November 10 robbery, witnesses stated he presented a hand gun; on the November 28 robbery, witnesses stated he presented a knife. The suspect was believed to be driving a small or mid-sized white SUV the Dollar General Store robberies.
Citizens are reminded not to confront or make contact with this suspect, but instead to call the numbers below or your local law enforcement agency.
