Two men are in custody in the Sevier County Jail after being arrested in connection with the theft of a heat and air unit at a rental cabin in Sevier County on July 8th. Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals states that a maintenance man from Auntie Belhams Cabin Company notified police after spotting a red Chevy truck and two white males attempting to load the air unit into the truck at the cabin located at 401 King Branch Road.

Officers arrived and detained the two males and soon found where the lines and wires had been from the unit at the rental cabin. The pair was identified as Johnny Wade McCarter, 40, of 925 Candy Tuft Way in Sevierville and Mark Lancaster, 38, of 4608 Peaceful Retreat Way in Cosby. Both were arrested and charged with Theft over $1000 and were arraigned before a Magistrate where bond was set. Both are still in custody in the Sevier County Jail awaiting a hearing in General Sessions Court on August 10th. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Pigeon Forge Police Department in the arrest.
