Werner Honors Local Athletes and Volunteers
Gatlinburg Mayor Mike Werner recognized the Gatlinburg- Pittman High School Girls Soccer Team, the Boys Cross Country Team and volunteers who helped construct a new press box at the school.
Werner issued proclamations to the honorees and presented them with plaques at a recent award ceremony.
The GP High School Soccer team participated in the state tournament where they finished second.
The Gatlinburg-Pittman High School Boys Cross Country Team competed exceptionally well at the Region 2-A/AA meet in Knoxville, with Daniel Watson, Cole Fuller, Davis Soehn, Nathaniel Arfa and Ridge Ramsey finishing within 45 seconds of one another to earn second place as a team, to qualify for the State Cross Country Championship meet and capture All-Regional individual honors
The Highlanders finished 15th as a team in the State in the Tournament.
Werner recognized volunteers who helped construct a press box at the high school.
