KNOXVILLE - Todd Proffitt, President and CEO, is proud to announce the newest addition to Tennessee State Bank’s growing team, Tim Bush, Knoxville City Executive.

Bush has been involved in the financial industry for over 23 years and is a current board member and past president of the Knoxville Quarterback Club.  He has served as an assistant for the varsity football team at Seymour High School for the past 8 years, and is a member at Valley Grove Baptist Church, where he is a past deacon.  Bush’s children, Taylor, 17 and Brittany, 15 attend Seymour High School.

“I have been in banking for over 23 years, but I have always worked for an institution with out of town headquarters.  I am very excited to be working for a bank that truly has local decision makers that are a part of our great community.  Because of my father, I have been in the Tennessee State Bank family since I was 8 years old.  It is great to now be a part of the TSB team.  Tennessee State bank has been voted best bank in Sevier County for the past 5 years; my challenge is to continue the same type of service and to bring “Banking at its Best” to the Knoxville community.

“We are very excited that Tim is now a part of our team.  We feel that his experience and connections in  Knoxville and the Turkey Creek area will help us maintain our focus that our customers are the foundation of our bank, without them, we cannot succeed,” said Proffitt.

Tennessee State Bank has been serving Knox and Sevier Counties since 1972.  Two new branches opened in 2008, expanding the bank to Jefferson City and Newport.  Turkey Creek is now the 15th branch in East Tennessee and the 3rd in Knox County.  They currently have over $700 million in assets and have been voted Best Bank in Sevier County for the past five consecutive years.  Tim Bush or any of his team at the Turkey Creek location can be reached at 865.288.5040 or visit us online at www.tnstatebank.com.

Sevier County is already gearing-up for the March 2009 Remote Area Medical Clinic (RAM). RAM Volunteer Core is a Knoxville-based, non-profit organization that travels the U.S. providing free dental care and vision to underserved rural areas. Individuals can receive free emergency extractions, cleanings, filings, eye exams and glasses if needed. In March, CBS featured a local RAM clinic in-action in Knoxville highlighting the huge service that RAM provides to the communities it serves. CBS will re-air the episode on Sunday, July 20, 7 p.m. The 2007 Sevier County RAM Clinic was a huge success with 409 patients served which valued over $62,000.00 of care. The 2009 Sevier County clinic plans to offer several services in addition to dental and vision services, including: mammograms provided by Thompson Cancer Survival Center, free blood and urine analysis by the National Kidney Foundation, and general medical consultation. RAM clinics rely on volunteers to make them a success. A variety of volunteers are needed for a variety of shifts for the March 2009 clinic scheduled for March 14 & 15 at Pigeon Forge High School; such as: dentists, hygienist, dental assistants, ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians, general practitioners, triage staff (active license: RN, LPN, CAN, EMT or Paramedic), general volunteers (registration, translators "Spanish," standing in line for individuals, providing directions). Medical professionals must have an active license and will be asked to supply a copy the day of the clinic. If you are interested in helping out in any way please contact the Fort Sanders Sevier Healthline at 453.WELL.
